What we know about a visit
Short answer: a page, an hour, a city-sized slice of an IP address, and the type of device. Nothing else, and nothing sold.
What the server writes down
- One line per page view: the path, the time, whether the referrer was internal, a user-agent class (mobile, desktop, or bot) and the first three octets of your IP address, or the first address block for IPv6. The last octet is thrown away at log time, so a full address is never stored.
- One line per ad click: which design, which page sent it, and the time. That click is the only thing we need in order to know whether this site is doing its job, which is to send readers to the store.
- Nothing else. No cookie is set, no local or session storage is used, no fingerprinting script runs, and no request goes to a third-party domain.
What happens when you leave
Headline links go straight to the publisher, and ad links pass through a redirect on this site so we can count the click before handing you to bananacoconut.com with tags naming this page as the referrer. From the moment you land on someone else’s site, their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Children, advertising and sale
This is not a directed-to-children site and it carries no behavioural advertising. We do not sell, rent or broker visitor data, because we deliberately do not collect enough of it to be worth selling.
